Umm. Why in the world don’t most of our transit systems look like this? What fabulous city planning and infrastructure!
Except for one thing. They don’t actually exist.
These stunning, high-color maps were created by Ian Silva, who drives a commuter train in Sydney, Australia. And he created them just for fun.
These transit systems are built upon a made up island that he calls the Koana Islands. He even has intricate details about this made-up place: for instance, the language is a mixture between English and Swedish, and the number for emergency services is 7777.
Which has us dreaming of these lovely, transit-friendly islands.
