People are finding ways to give “green charity” more and more, but every once in a while, a story comes around that really restores our faith in humanity.
This time we’re smiling because WakaWaka is working to give solar-powered lighting devices to Syrian refugees.
So here’s the deal: Syrian refugees have been living in tents and using kerosene lamps for light. Apart from giving off a lot of toxins, those are also really flammable. Not a good mix.
But WakaWaka’s lamps are solar powered, can charge phones and tablets, and give up to 40 hours of light after a day of charging!
WakaWaka also started a “buy one, give one” campaign to help refugees even more.
