So British Airways goes up to Solena Fuels to buy some trash…
No that’s not a joke, it really happened. The giant airline is buying trash to use as (drumroll, please) JET FUEL! That means less trash in the landfill and more recycled, renewable fuel!
This is all a part of British Airways’ plans to reduce their emissions by 50% by 2050. The fuel made from trash is also a lot cheaper than normal jet fuel.
And even though all the recycled trash in the world wouldn’t be enough to meet our fuel needs, the effort is definitely worth it.
What other ways can we recycle all the trash in our landfills? Tell us your ideas in the comments!
