The School Bus-Less Town

Who needs school buses anyways? Not this Ohio town!

The 5,800 students in Lakewood, Ohio get to school every morning by their own two feet. Although the town has grown, the city made sure to keep all the schools in a central location, making school buses completely unnecessary.

Check out what the people of Lakewood have to say about this phenomenon.

The students get a lot out of walking to and from school every day: exercise, fresh air and time to spend with their friends. The school also benefits from this set up because no buses means about $1 million dollars they get to use elsewhere.

How do you get to school every day? What do you think of Lakewood’s idea? Tell us in the comments!
